Court considers Board Petition to Expand Rule 4A(3)
On May 8, 2026, the Board filed a Petition with the Court recommending amendments to Rule 4A(3) that would allow foreign-educated lawyers to sit for the Minnesota if they are licensed in the country they obtained their legal education or another U.S. jurisdiction, have received an LL.M. from a qualifying law school, and have taken certain coursework.
The Court seeks public comment in support or opposition to the Board’s proposed changes. Interested parties may file a response through the Clerk of Courts with a deadline of August 10, 2026.
